Arizona Light-Workers Sharing Inspirations for Conscious Living
SCAI, my Arts Institute
Did you know that there'sgoing to be a fabulous Arts Institute in Sedona?? It's called S.C.A.I. -- Sedona Cultural Arts Intstitute. I designed the building in 1978. And now, finally, I am letting people of Light Mind know about it!
I'll add the design in a photo, so you can see this unique place -- for ARTISTS of all kinds, friends of the Arts and people who'd like to see How art is CREATED!
Here's its Mission Statement:
S.C.A.I. is dedicated to the enrichment of humanity in the arts. It is our intent to uniquely serve aspiring artists in the fields of fine art, commercial art and performance art. With individual attention to our students, novices and professionals in their respective chosen fields, we encourage a hands-on approach to increasing awareness in these fields, emphasizing a “journeyman to apprentice” style of teaching.
Secondly, S.C.A.I. chooses to educate the general public in regard to the creative process. People are invited to view same, as the journeyman imparts wisdom to the student. A curator is well informed about each workroom’s goals and techniques. The person who has received a tour of the facility leaves the premises with a much greater understanding, thusly, of the steps involved in these processes. With this new information, a lay person has a far greater appreciation for any piece of commercial art in its completed form.
We at S.C.A.I. hold that “. . . these things (we ) do, you may also do, and yet greater things.” Hence, there is an underlying “encouragement that beckons the lay person’s internal drive to create from the depths of his/her soul. As an accredited institution, we offer a unique opportunity to anyone who may otherwise miss his/her creative genius.
Thirdly, S.C.A.I. is a place to gather socially and enjoy the company of like-minded people. Our performances “in the round” emphasize art, music and dance . . . often entwined in our specialty called Art Concerts International.™
