I just saw on Facebook that you are planning to be in Jerusalem for the Jerusalem Hug 2009.... WOW, that is exciting! I had the pleasure of meeting Eliyahu McLean in 2007 at a Dances of Universal Peace dance camp in Capitol Reef National Park, UT. He spent several hours telling us about a previous Jerusalem Hug and his other peace work in the Middle East. He told some wonderful stories. I believe there are a lot more positive things going on than we usually hear about. He is doing some wonderful work over there, and I know it will be a wonderful event for you and all who participate!
Are you still in the Prescott area? I haven't seen you at their Dances in quite awhile.
Blessings to you,
Shakura Cathryn
“In my heart I see a singing planet, many people gathering in different places on the globe to sing, dance and pray together. In so doing sacred space is created, moments where we are reminded of the love and harmony which is our essence and birthright.” ~Barbara Swetina, Findhorn Community
hi Hakim - it is our collective altar for the duration of the workshop - could be pretty much anything that has meaning and value to you - a rock, a photo, a piece of jewelry, a drum. I generally bring my ceremonial fan.
will you tell me more about your 'calling' and where your travels have been? Perhaps we can drum together? There will be a drum circle on May 18 - the time and place to be determined as yet. Blessings - valerie
hi cathryn - i am glad you created this venue - i sent a message to you wearlier but it does not appear that you received it
james has an album out called "the best so far" and it has that song on it. the beloveds have performed that song live and in rounds - it is spectacular
It was lovely to see you and dance with you again last Saturdy at Prescott DUP. Thank you for joining us here.
I am a big fan of James Twyman.... he is doing such good work all over the planet. He came to Sedona last year and gave a concert as part of the 64 Days of Peace/Season for Non-Violence. The concert was wonderful! Were you there, perhaps? He did an amazing piece composed of chants from 6 different spiritual traditions.... Sufi, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, and two others I can't remember now. They were all done simultaneously, and all woven together harmoniously, with the aid of some sort of feedback loop technology that he operated with foot. It was incredibly beautiful and I was so awestruck! I was sorry to find out that he has not recorded anything like it on any of his albums. And then after the concert he stood there and spoke with us, and greeted us individually, staying as long as there was anyone from the audience who wanted to meet him. He was such a warm, gentle, funny and REAL person. It was a delight to meet him.
That was also really a wonderful 64 days... throughout that time there were many wonderful presentations and events offered by different groups in Sedona. Our Sedona/Cottonwood DUP team gave a special evening of Dances of Universal Peace at the Sedona Library. Sweet!
Blessings,
Cathryn

my ministry is a ministry of the moment - I bring with me (when I am centered) my heart, unconditional love, and peace where ever I am - and will hold the space for peace to unfold if there is absence. I find myself at a loss for words (which is unusual) because describing this is like describing the universe in a succint manner. I am a connection between people and beliefs and dreams - I create a vessel of safe place for people to connect with each other and possibly expand. Perhaps I find this challenging because I attempt to explaion that which is unexplainable - and yet I try :)) did it help? google the beloved community for more details
have we danced together at the dances of universal peace in wither prescott or sedona before?
I too had the spirit drumbeat calling me to the Arizona desert, although my call was to a different end of the country. Could you give me some information about your ministry?
